Serah Terima Project STOP Muncar Menandai Keberlanjutan Program Pengelolaan Sampah di Seluruh Wilayah Kabupaten Banyuwangi<\/strong><\/h3>\n

- Project STOP Muncar menyediakan layanan pengangkutan sampah kepada lebih dari 90.000 penduduk,\nmenciptakan lebih dari 100 lapangan pekerjaan dan mengumpulkan 14.000 ton sampah (1.900 ton\ndiantaranya adalah plastik) sejak dimulainya program. <\/em><\/p>\n

- Dengan perluasan Project STOP di wilayah kabupaten Banyuwangi melalui Program Banyuwangi Hijau,\nprogram ini diprediksi akan menjangkau hingga 2 juta penduduk pada tahun 2025, menciptakan lebih dari\n1.000 pekerjaan tetap dan mengumpulkan 230.000 ton sampah (25.000 ton diantaranya adalah plastik)\nsetiap tahun.<\/em><\/p>\n

- Langkah lanjutan untuk mendukung pemerintah Indonesia dalam mencapai komitmen untuk mengurangi\npolusi plastik laut hingga 70% pada 2025.<\/em><\/p>\n

Muncar, Banyuwangi, East Java, Indonesia, 21 February 2022<\/strong> Project STOP, program yang menciptakan sistem\npengelolaan sampah sirkular secara efektif, mengawali tahun 2022 dengan capaian\nbesar yaitu membawa kemitraan kota pertamanya di Kecamatan Muncar, Kabupaten\nBanyuwangi, Jawa Timur mencapai target pembiayaan, tata kelola, dan teknis.\nKeberhasilan ini diapresiasi oleh sejumlah pemangku kepentingan dan melahirkan\nkeputusan untuk memperluas jangkauan layanan persampahan Project STOP ke\nseluruh wilayah Kabupaten Banyuwangi. Oleh karena itu, bertepatan dengan Hari\nPeduli Sampah Nasional (HPSN) pada tanggal 21 Februari, peresmian program\nBanyuwangi Hijau diselenggarakan untuk memperkuat pendekatan sistem\npengelolaan sampah demi penghidupan yang lebih baik di Kabupaten Banyuwangi.\nSetelah sebelumnya melakukan penandatanganan Memorandum of Understanding\n(MoU) pada 23 Desember 2021 yang lalu, kegiatan peresmian yang dilakukan hari ini\n(21\/02\/2022) dilaksanakan secara hybrid di Pendopo Sabha Swagata Blambangan,\nBanyuwangi. Turut hadir beberapa pejabat pemerintahan, termasuk perwakilan\nKementerian Koordinator Bidang Kemaritiman dan Investasi, Kementerian Lingkungan\nHidup dan Kehutanan, Kedutaan Besar Norwegia, Pemerintah Banyuwangi, organisasi\nlokal, perwakilan desa, tim Project STOP di Banyuwangi, termasuk SYSTEMIQ dan\nBorealis.\nMenteri Koordinator Kemaritiman dan Investasi, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan\nmenyampaikan mengenai pentingnya kolaborasi antar sektor untuk pengelolaan\nsumber daya yang lebih baik. \u201cPemerintah dan swasta harus bekerja sama\nmenyelesaikan masalah pengelolaan sampah, agar bisa berkontribusi dalam\npencapaian target Pemerintah Indonesia untuk mengurangi 70% kebocoran sampah\nplastik ke laut pada 2025. Kami mengapresiasi diselenggarakannya Program\nBanyuwangi Hijau oleh Pemerintah Kabupaten Banyuwangi, yang dengan dukungan\nProject STOP, akan menghentikan sampah plastik berakhir di lingkungan serta\nmewujudkan ekonomi sirkular,\" kata Luhut.\nSetiap harinya, Kabupaten Banyuwangi menghasilkan 850 ton sampah, dengan lebih\ndari 78% atau 666 ton diantaranya tidak dikelola dengan baik. Ditambah lagi, sebagian\nbesar dari rumah tangga masih membakar atau membuang sampah di sungai atau\nlingkungan terdekat. Oleh karena itu, dalam program Banyuwangi Hijau ini, Project\nSTOP akan bekerja sama dengan pemerintah Banyuwangi untuk\nmengimplementasikan Kebijakan dan Strategi Daerah Pengelolaan Sampah Rumah\nTangga dan Sampah Sejenis Rumah Tangga<\/p>\n

Plt. Kepala Dinas Lingkungan Hidup (DLH) Banyuwangi, Dwi Handajani\nmengatakan, \u201cSejak tahun 2018, kami bermitra dengan Project STOP untuk\nmenyediakan layanan persampahan yang berkelanjutan dan dapat dijangkau oleh\nmasyarakat di Kecamatan Muncar. Kini, melalui inisiatif Banyuwangi Hijau, kami\nberharap kemitraan multipihak ini dapat mewujudkan target dalam JAKSTRADA 2025\nuntuk mencapai target pengelolaan sampah yang terintegrasi, dan mendukung program\nBanyuwangi Rebound untuk tangani pandemi, pulihkan ekonomi, merajut ekonomi,\nsehingga tercapai Kabupaten Banyuwangi yang bersih dan sehat.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ipuk Fiestiandani, Bupati Banyuwangi juga menyampaikan harapannya untuk\nprogram Banyuwangi Hijau. \u201cKami sangat senang dapat bermitra dengan PT.\nSYSTEMIQ Lestari Indonesia (Project STOP) melalui Program Banyuwangi Hijau untuk\nmendukung upaya kami mengembangkan pengelolaan sampah yang komprehensif,\nsehingga dapat menghasilkan manfaat ekonomi, lingkungan, dan kesehatan bagi\nmasyarakat, khususnya mendukung program penurunan prevalensi stunting pada balita,\u201d ujarnya. Dirinya menambahkan, \u201cSaya berharap kerjasama ini dapat mendukung Pemerintah Kabupaten Banyuwangi meningkatkan cakupan layanan persampahan yang berkelanjutan, serta mendorong terciptanya perilaku bersih masyarakat untuk Banyuwangi yang lebih bersih dan sehat,\u201d kata Ipuk.<\/p>\n

Keberhasilan Project STOP di Muncar yang melatarbelakangi Program Banyuwangi\nHijau menunjukkan bahwa sinergi kerjasama sektor publik dan swasta dapat\nmengurangi kebocoran sampah, termasuk plastik, ke lingkungan maupun lautan.\nKolaborasi ini juga memupuk kemandirian masyarakat karena Project STOP di Muncar\ntelah memasuki fase otonomi baru yaitu pengelolaan mandiri oleh pemerintah setempat\ndan masyarakat sejak tahun 2022.<\/p>\n

Hingga saat ini, Project STOP Muncar telah menjangkau lebih dari 90.000 rumah\ntangga, memproses sampah organik dan anorganik, menyediakan dua Tempat\nPengolahan Sampah Terpadu Reduce-Reuse-Recycle (TPST 3R), dengan biaya penuh\nsistem sebesar $30\/tahun. Program ini telah mencapai target berkat partisipasi\nmasyarakat (lebih dari 90% rumah tangga), pembayaran iuran sampah, ditambah\ndengan penyelenggaraan operasional yang efisien.<\/p>\n

A handover ceremony was hosted on 21 February 2022, at the Banyuwangi regency auditorium to celebrate Muncar\u2019s autonomy and marking the new expansion to Banyuwangi, with key local and international stakeholders joining in person and online. Attendees consisted of numerous government officials, including representatives from the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Banyuwangi government, local organisations, village heads, SYSTEMIQ, Borealis and Project STOP team members. The Interim Head of Environmental Agency in Banyuwangi, Dwi Handayani, testified, \u201csince 2017, we are partnering with Project STOP to provide a sustainable waste management and accessible to the community in Muncar. Now, through this multi-stakeholder partnership in Banyuwangi, we will be working together to achieve integrated waste management targets for a clean and healthy regency.\u201d<\/p>\n

Launched in 2017 by Borealis and SYSTEMIQ, Project STOP (STop Ocean Plastics) works hand-in-hand with city governments to create effective circular waste management systems in high-need areas of Southeast Asia. The initiative supports cities with technical expertise to achieve zero-leakage of waste, increase recycling, build economically sustainable programs, creating new jobs and reducing the harmful impact of mismanaged waste on public health, tourism, and fisheries. While the first city partnership was established in 2018 in Muncar, Project STOP also operates two additional city partnerships, in Pasuruan Regency, also in the island of Java, and Jembrana Regency, on the north coast of Bali.<\/p>\n

Project STOP\u2019s strategic partners include the Norwegian Government, Nestl\u00e9, Borouge, the Alliance to End Plastic Waste, and Siegwerk. Project STOP\u2019s success is in large part thanks to these collaborations as well as its close partnership with local and national government offices in Indonesia, including the National Ministry for Environment and Forestry (KLHK) which it has a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with, the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs (CMMAI) and the Regency governments in the regions it works.
