Pada bulan Maret, tim Project STOP menyambut John Vidal, mantan editor lingkungan veteran The Guardian, yang sekarang bekerja di HuffPost, ke Muncar untuk melihat perkembangan kinerja kami. Dia bertemu dengan tim STOP, mengunjungi fasilitas TPST (di mana sampah dipilah dan diproses), dan berbincang dengan masyarakat. John juga melakukan perjalanan lebih jauh ke Surabaya untuk melaporkan tantangan nyata persampahan di Indonesia dan apa saja yang diperlukan untuk mengatasinya secara efektif. Dia menyebut Project STOP adalah \u201csolusi jangka panjang yang bermanfaat untuk mencegah sampah plastik Indonesia masuk ke laut.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ketika dunia berjuang untuk mengatasi sampah dan sampah plastiknya, tempat-tempat seperti Muncar, Indonesia menanggung bebannya. Kebutuhan untuk menciptakan sistem pengelolaan sampah yang efektif adalah tantangan besar, dan hanya dapat dicapai melalui kolaborasi. Dalam upaya mengatasi tantangan tersebut, Project STOP diluncurkan di Muncar pada tahun 2018 dan bekerja dengan masyarakat dan pemerintah setempat untuk menciptakan sistem pengelolaan sampah berkelanjutan dan berbiaya rendah yang mengambil sebanyak mungkin nilai dari sampah tersebut.<\/span><\/p>\n
