Todd Becker, Wakil Presiden bagian Penjualan di NOVA Chemicals<\/span>\u00a0baru-baru ini mengunjungi Indonesia untuk menghabiskan dua hari di lapangan dengan Project STOP. Becker membagikan perspektif pribadinya tentang plastik di lautan kami dan pengalamannya di Indonesia dengan Flexible Packaging Magazine.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAsia Tenggara telah diidentifikasi sebagai sumber utama sampah plastik laut karena perkembangan ekonomi dan konsumsi plastik telah melampaui ekspansi sistem pengelolaan sampah. Muncar terpilih sebagai lokasi Project STOP pertama karena keseriusannya, ditambah dengan kepemimpinan yang kuat, dan komitmen lingkungan di tingkat lokal, kabupaten, dan nasional. Tujuannya adalah untuk menerapkan program ke kota-kota dan wilayah lain.<\/p>\n

Saya menghargai misi Project STOP untuk membantu kota-kota setempat merancang dan menerapkan sistem pengelolaan sampah berbiaya rendah di mana semua rumah tangga dan lembaga mendapatkan manfaat dari pengumpulan sampah tersebut. Mereka, seperti kita semua, didorong untuk menjauhkan plastik dan semua jenis sampah dari lingkungan. Saya percaya perbedaannya adalah bahwa Project STOP mengambil pandangan holistis dari masalah tersebut dan menciptakan sistem pengelolaan sampah yang berkelanjutan dan berbiaya rendah yang mengambil sebanyak mungkin nilai dari sampah. Banyaknya inisiatif-inisiatif dan pemulung setempat didukung dan diintegrasikan ke dalam model bisnis.\u201d<\/p>\n
